I get asked all the time- what’s some easy nail art? My honest response: Anything can be easy if you practice enough! But I get it. I hear where you’re coming from! For this look I used a bobby pin because it is a common tool- so no technical tools required!

Personally, I love snowflakes on a midnight blue base. They white & light shades really pop against that kind of shade! Here I’m using Zoya Yves from the Satin Matte collection for winter-. Using varying finishes can also bring some interest as well- light reflects differently! I opted to use more shades from the satin matte collection but a glossy white would really pop as well! Or even some well placed glitters!

Take your bobby pin & open it so you have a long metal tool. This allows you to see more easily. Take your white or light shades (I took Zoya Aspen & Sue) & put a small amount on a piece of foil, plastic wrap, or something it can’t leak through. You don’t want to add too much because you can always add more because polish thickens a bit the more it is exposed to air.

Use the bobby pin & a bit of polish to start creating your abstract snowflakes. If you have a steady hand you can make them evenly but for this quick tutorial I didn’t! I always have readers say “even” is really difficult…so don’t fight it! Have snowflakes start off the nail, on the tips, wherever! I finished by going back with a slightly different shade to do a few dots & lines. & bam- done! I didn’t go with a top coat because I liked the satin look- but feel free to shine up your nails with a glossy topper to seal in your work as well!
